  Can Baptisms be anulled?

  i was baptised when i was 12 years old and i dont feel like at that age i was mature enough to take such a drastic step.

  i dont think its right to be df'd for something that i never really did since the baptism is really only a symbol of the dedication and i never did that.

  i just was going along with the flow.

  I am having difficulty understanding this statement. Do the elders want to DF you for something of which you say you are innocent? Baptism is the outward display of your dedication - So, were you never baptised? or, you were never dedicated leading up to baptism?

  If you are baptized, you can either 'fade away', disassociate, or have the elders disfellowship you. Your choice.

  What's Your Opinion Of Charles Taze Russell?

  the founder of tbe watchtower has been said to be a good christian man, "the faithful steward", a child molester, "the laodecian messenger", a fraud, and a number of other things.

  when you became a witness, charles taze russell might have been downplayed or exalted, depending upon who was talking about him.

  what is your opinion of the society's first president??

  When my time came, after being spied upon and reported to the elders for buying lottery tickets (I made no attempt to hide this apalling, disgusting, life threatening activity), I received a phone call from one of the elders one evening revealing my 'habit', and suggesting that the elders would like to meet with me - I said "Sure, how about tonight?". So we met, and they wanted to discuss my 'wrongdoing' as had been brought to their attention by several of the brothers (the elders refused to identify them, though it could have been anyone, for, as I said I made no attempt to disguise the fact that I was purchasing the occasional lottery ticket).

  The discussion didn't get too far, nor last too long, for I stated " I have no intention of stopping this harmless activity, and, you are not going to disfellowship me because of it - because, as of this moment I disassociate myself from the WT organistaion."

  They wanted to pray on my behalf, but I told them to save their breath and to pray for the ones still entrapped in the org.

  i don't know if i can stay associatted with this organisation anymore after the things i've seen them do and seen what they are responsible for.

  Some inactive ones prefer to remain that way and just drift away from the org and to leave it up to the older men to act in some way upon the inactive ones course of action.

  Many, self included, prefer to have disassociated, thus denying the elders any satisfaction of ridding the cong. of a supposed wrongdoer. Disassociation is a course chosen by the inactive one and, although disfellowshipping involves a choice on the part of the one being disfellowshipped, it means that the older men have 'got' you for some wrongdoing and are out to cleanse the cong. of your presence (I doubt whether trying to turn the wrongdoer around from their course of action is foremost on the elders agenda at this stage, as they should have been actively pursuing that facet of procedings long before it got to any disciplinary hearing).

  Disassociate = peace of mind + in effect telling the elders to shove it.

  There are rumours that he died at least ten years ago? and that his carcass was preserved and is worn by one of the cardinaIs? Couldn't possibly be true, could it?

  The brothers can be relieved and confident that their leader (the GB) are all young men with progressive ideas and not decrepit and deluded old turds.

  Certainly a tragic accident and I extend my sympathy to those injured and affected otherwise by it.

  eyebrow2 raises a most valid. Whilst older years do not condemn everyone to becoming the proverbial 'doddering old fool' it definitely brings with limitations to a persons ability to perform some functions and respond to varying situations.

  I do not know how far apart lampposts are spaced in New York, but the report states that the driver "accelerated out of control", "striking three lampposts", "surged through the crowd", "crossed several lanes of traffic", and then "struck a tree". It is a wonder that more people were not injured.

  Not aware of the exact circumstances or the drivers health (either physically or mentally) I cannot help but wonder why the driver did not respond in a different manner when he first reversed into a parked car - let alone his lack of positive response to the chain of events that ensued.

  On a lighter note - maybe he too was looking for an honorable mention at www.darwinawards.com

  An appalling case - typical though of how the JWs care little for those who disregard the laws of the Watchtower - in this case their own innocent child.

  cheeses would not forgive them. And cheeses also said "by their fruits you will recognise them". In this case the parents are readily identified as poor excuses for human beings.
